Star Luke Grimes got candid about whether a possible crossover episode for the two Yellowstone spinoffs is on the table.
It’s almost time for Marshals season 2—and fans are begging for the show to do something big with the Yellowstone franchise.
New episodes premiere on Sunday, October 4, 2026, on CBS, and on September 2, the show’s social team dropped the official Marshals season 2 trailer on Instagram. It showed Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes), his son Tate (Brecken Merrill), Pet Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), and others as they navigate life as U.S. marshals in Texas.
“You've waited long enough,” the caption read alongside the sneak peek. “The official trailer for Marshals season 2 is here.”
As soon as the Yellowstone spinoff’s first look dropped, many fans couldn’t hold back their excitement.
“THIS TRAILER IS INSANE! 😱 Absolutely worth the wait! This season looks so intense, counting down the days until October 4th!! 🚨🍿🔥,” one person exclaimed. “EVERYONE, SILENCE! OCT 4TH IS COMING!!!” another shouted. “I can’t wait 🔥,” a different follower penned.
But some folks also wanted Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) from Dutton Ranch, another Yellowstone spinoff that aired in May on Paramount+, to pop up in Marshals season 2.
“Beth & Rip gotta be in show at point 🙏,” one person begged. “There's gotta be a Marshals/Dutton Ranch crossover episode!” another agreed. “They definitely need crossover with Beth and Rip so they can help each other that’s what Families do ♥️🙏,,” a different follower added.
Luke confirmed a Dutton Ranch and Marshals crossover isn’t happening yet, but that the idea is definitely on the table.
“It’s not out of the question that we might have some sort of crossover at some point,” Luke told TV Insider on September 13. “Beth’s basically Kayce’s only living family member other than Tate. It would make sense that down the line we’d at least talk. [Kelly and I have] texted about it back and forth a lot [and] talked about how it’d be fun and necessary for our story arcs, however they’re going to end.”
